An interesting building in this part of Milan is Palazzo Pirelli. The construction of this building started in 1956 designed by Ponti, Fornaroli, Nervi, Rosselli, Valtolina, Dall’Orto and inaugurated on April 1960. It takes its name from the Pirelli Company (in fact it’s also known as the ‘Pirellone’), the italian manufacturer of tires and cables. In 1978 the skyscraper was purchased by the Region of Lombardia and today is the region’s main administration building.
