Porta Romana |
The arch located in Corso di Porta Romana, was
placed on the ancient way to Rome. (2nd - 3rd century AD). This
triumphal arch was transformed in 1162 by Barbarossa into a gate
in the city walls.
This street is characterized by many noble buildings like Palazzo
Acerbi, Palazzo Annoni and Casa Bettoni (1631). In the strrets around
the Corso, is the famous Teatro Carcano (1803) in which the great
actress Eleonora Duse performed many times. People come to Milan
know that here lies one of the most prestigious Italian University:
the “Bocconi”. Founded in 1902, the Università

iness university. Its urban campus encompasses the whole neighbourhood
around Parco Ravizza, and nearly 13.000 students
from all over the world make Università Bocconi one of the
most culturally diverse universities in Europe. Parco Ravizza, a
pretty Milan’s garden, takes its name from Alessandrina Ravizza,
a 19th century educatress, engrossed in defence of women’s
and children’s right. This park was realized between 1903
and 1905 by Francesco Tettamanzi in a classic English Style.
